I’m using the app on a blackview bv8000pro.
The app records perfectly at 1920×1080. The issue is I like to keep the display on while driving, but when the app starts the input from the camera goes black. The app is still recording video as I can watch all the footage afterwards.
If I press the home button, then select the app icon again from the homescreen, I can once again see the camera. When the app starts a new file (5 min clips), it goes black again .
Any suggestions?

The app is built to show the preview during recording. There is no option to turn it off, which might get activated somehow. It seems the camera framework is doing something out of ordinary.
Maybe the app’s log file would contain some clues about this. Can you send us one? Details here:
