On my Sony Xperia 1 V (XQ-DQ54) DailyRoad shows message “sorry, camera can’t be initialized” when in background mode. This started after update to the new Android 14 version. Reinstalling didn’t solve the problem.

Android 14 came with further restrictions related to how apps should behave in background mode. We are working on a new architecture of the camera operations to accommodate these restrictions.
In the meantime, there is one way to use the app’s background mode on Android 14. On the main screen tap the Back button, then select the “Continue in background” option.
This only works if you haven’t already tried to put the app into background mode in another way (like bringing another app into the foreground). If the app has already shown the “camera could not be initialized” message, then even the “Continue in background” option won’t work. In that case you need to first close the app properly (with the Exit option).
